The Accessible, New Formex Field Automatic Gen-2

In 2022, following the launch of the Reef dive watch and the casual-sporty Essence, Formex expanded into the sphere watch phase with the discharge of the Area Computerized. Housed in a 41mm titanium case with 150m of water resistance, the primary iteration featured a variety of dial colors, together with Charcoal, Petrol Blue, Ash Gray, Mahogany Purple, Extremely Violet, and Sage Inexperienced, and a number of strap choices, establishing an excellent basis within the military-inspired class. The Formex Area Computerized 40mm Gen 2 is available in a hardened grade 2 titanium case, measuring 40mm in diameter and 10.5mm in peak, with a 48mm lug-to-lug and 20mm lug width. The case advantages from titanium’s light-weight, hypoallergenic, anti-magnetic, and corrosion-resistant properties, and Formex applies a proprietary hardening course of, rising floor hardness from 145 Vickers to 900 Vickers, making it practically thrice tougher than customary Grade 5 titanium. The case reveals a totally sandblasted matte end, with precision beveling for added character. 

The re-engineered dial is now a two-part construction: a flat sunburst-finished centre surrounded by a sloped minute observe, forming a concave profile. A sandwich-style design options recessed stencil-cut numerals Tremendous-LumiNova Grade A, paired with a bevelled, colour-matched date window at 6 o’clock. New dial colors embody Ice Blue and Coho Salmon with blacked-out lume, Basalt Gray with BGW09 lume, white in daylight and blue at evening. The chapter ring and cardinal markers assist quick, clear legibility with out muddle. The syringe-style hour and minute fingers and the lollipop seconds hand stay unchanged from the unique.

Powering the watch is the standard-grade Sellita SW200-1 automated motion (an alternative choice to the ETA 2824), working at 28,800 vibrations/hour and delivering a 41-hour energy reserve. The motion is enclosed in a stable caseback, in step with discipline watch requirements.

As customary with Formex, strap choices are many and embody sturdy nylon Velcro with woven texture for out of doors use and quick-change leather-based straps for extra formal settings.
