Diver panda.. call it orca. Fits 7in wrist no problem
They should call this watch the orca, pandas donât go diving. I was worried about the fit but itâs looks great on a 7in wrist, all the hands line up and everything works, lume looks like mint gum and lasts a long time, itâs awesome, very happy

Sadly returned
Make no mistake Orient makes quality watches and this is no exception. However, I broke my cardinal rule of buying a white dial watch with white hands. They are outlined in black and I thought it could work. But not with my eyesight 🙁 And I don’t want a watch that I have to put the readers on to tell time. And no, I’m not blind. In the right light I could see the time fine and the subdials well, that’s another story. It truly is a well-made beautiful timepiece and for the right person you can’t go wrong. I own 2 Orients and will purchase a 3rd when my refund hits. May even get the Pepsi version of this watch. Excellent watch for the price just trying to help others like me

Underrated “panda” and amazing value
If you search reviews of watches, the Seiko Speedmaster solar panda gets all kinds of hype since its release a couple of years ago. This watch beats it on many important specs and yet costs half as much (or even less).Things I like that the more expensive Seiko lacks:-Sapphire crystal (not mineral crystal)-200m water resistance (not 100m)-beveled finishing around the sub-dials (a glint of shiny metal rather than a straight cut through the dial-lumed markers at all hours (Seiko had only 4, though a later version added more)The one thing that Seiko definitely did better is the bracelet, but neither bracelet is very good. These watches are more comfortable and look great with a good rubber or other strap, so I had no problem just dropping this bracelet in the bin.The watch looks great. It’s almost impossible to capture the sunburst effect on the dial with a photo, but you can see it in person for sure–a matter of taste whether that’s a good thing. The lume is fantastic. If my room is dark, I can read this watch all night long. I also get a lot of compliments when I first walk into a room from being outside, as the lume is noticeable even in a lit space. It seems to catch the eye of bartenders for just this reason. LOLMy only beefs:The hands are easy to read when I have my glasses on, but in low light if I’m not wearing readers, sometimes it’s hard to read because the white-lumed hands blur into the dial too much for me. In the dark or wearing glasses this is not an issue.Similarly, the hands on the sub dials could use a little more contrast as well. They can be hard to see in low light.Otherwise, this watch is not getting nearly the attention it deserves. Solar quartz movement is super reliable and accurate–so far I can’t find any deviation since I first got it a few weeks ago and I LOVE not having to replace a batter any time in the next…oh…10 to 20 years or more?

Beautiful nod to a classic.
Ofcourse I’m referring to the Panda Rolex Daytona Chronograph. Orient always delivers quality and reliability. This solar quartz movent is smooth and very precise. The dile is beautiful as is the finish and bracelet. I 100% would recommend this brand, this model, and this seller!

Fantastic value-for-money watch.
I have a fairly extensive watch collection but up until now I had only owned 1 Orient piece, which was a Bambino. This Mako series diver is a very nice stainless steel diver with some of the best solar quartz functionality available.Measurements: The case diameter of 42.8mm and the lug-to-lug of 48.1mm confirmed by my calipers wear true to size, if not slightly smaller on wrist. My 6.5″ wrist wears this perfectly.Dial: The white dial is nothing spectacular but was my preference in color and i don’t regret it. The lume on the markers is quite good for the price point. The chronograph hands are not illuminated but the high contrast between the chronograph hands and the solar sub dials helps with visibility. It must be said that the dial markers for minutes and seconds are very difficult to read due to their small size.Bezel: you get a moderately clicky uni-directional dive bezel in a semi-reflective black color. The bezel does not overhang the case and helps with my true-to-size rating for the measurements.Bracelet: … Honestly it’s a bit cheap. It feels cheap, it looks cheap and it can squeak and rattle a bit. The pins, although not loose enough to slip, feel quite loose. It was very easy for me to adjust to my size though, and with 4 points of micro-adjustments it feels about right for the price point.Overall, I love the watch and I look forward to more Orient purchases.Edit for accuracy: This watch has gained about 1.5 minutes in time over the course of 3 months. Very happy with my purchase overall. Bracelet still feels cheapy but it’s doing the job just fine. I wore it to work once, which is a fairly physical job, and the spring bar holding the bracelet to the case gave up on one side, but I put it back on and it’s been fine since then.

Fantastic Watch
Beautiful Panda. Robust. Quality construction and appearance throughout. Solar quartz movement is hard to beat, if not impossible for a watch collector. Great value. Should be accurate to 2Os/mo.

Honestly, Orient makes one of the best bang-for-your-buck watches. They make their watches in house, and they are very reliable. They are like what Seiko used to be as far as value. This is my second Orient, and love them as daily watches. I highly recommend this company as an entry level quality Japanese watch.

Superbly well made watch, especially at this price point. The quartz movement is super accurate and it is a joy using the chronograph. The pictures donât do the dial justice. Itâs a lovely silvery white.Only downsides are the bracelet is a tad only and has a pressed steel clasp. However, it was easy to adjust with the correct tool and fits well. (Expanding collar pins)I also find the date window pretty small, but then I am knocking on a bit.But these are very minor niggles.Looks far more expensive than it actually is.John.
