I’ve been a fan of mechanical watches for nearly 20 years and have a definite preference for Japanese watchmaking. With that said, I’ve never owned a Timex. They served a needed niche in the industry but had limited appeal for “enthusiasts.”
Apparently, this is no longer the case as Timex has been releasing a string of higher spec, more interesting watches in recent years – and largely succeeding. Never imagined I’d own a Timex diver, and from the second I put it on I knew this was a winner. Very well executed dive watch for the price with an extremely comfy and relatively unique dive strap. Out of the box it’s only deviating +3 seconds per day as well, which is within COSC specs.
Great watch. With Seiko, Citizen, Orient, and a vast array of micro divers competing at this end of the market, this Timex holds its own.
