Key Features
Every tool in the Spartan is engineered for practical use, combining functionality with Swiss precision. The knife includes two high-quality stainless steel blades—one large and one small—offering both detailed precision and heavier-duty cutting capability. The large blade handles tougher tasks like slicing rope or opening packages, while the small blade is perfect for finer work such as trimming threads or opening envelopes.
The corkscrew is ideal for wine enthusiasts or outdoor dining, allowing you to open bottles with ease no matter where you are. Combined with the can opener and bottle opener, it makes meal prep in the field or at a picnic effortless. The can opener features an integrated small screwdriver that also functions as a Phillips head, useful for tightening loose screws on eyeglasses or small electronics.
The bottle opener doubles as a large screwdriver and includes a wire stripper, making it a multitool for quick fixes around the home, workshop, or campsite. Whether you’re opening a beverage or repairing a loose cabinet hinge, this tool covers both needs. The reamer is particularly useful for punching clean holes in leather, fabric, or plastic, adding utility for crafting, repairs, or survival situations.
For everyday convenience, the Spartan includes a key ring for easy attachment to keys, lanyards, or bags, ensuring the knife is always within reach. Tweezers and a toothpick are discreetly stored in the handle, providing quick access for personal grooming or minor first aid—like removing splinters or maintaining oral hygiene on the go.

History and Heritage
In 1884, Master Cutler Karl Elsener opened a cutlery shop in Ibach, Switzerland, where he and his cutlers’ union produced high-quality steel cutlery. By 1891, he was supplying the Swiss Army with its standard-issue Soldier’s Knife, and in 1897, introduced the Officer’s Knife. In 1921, following the death of his mother, Victoria, and the advent of stainless steel—then known as “inoxydable”—Karl renamed the company Victorinox. Today, Victorinox remains family-owned and operated in Ibach, continuing a legacy of Swiss craftsmanship and innovation.
Care Tips
To maintain optimal performance, clean the knife by opening and closing the blades in warm water if they begin to stick, then dry thoroughly and apply a small drop of oil to the pivot points. For the locking mechanism, periodic use of Victorinox Swiss Army Knife Oil is recommended. Avoid dishwasher cleaning, as high heat and detergents can damage the tools. Sharpen blades using a whetstone at a 15°–20° angle to achieve a 30°–40° cutting edge. If using a grinding wheel, cool frequently with water to prevent overheating and metal damage.
