An amazing watch
I bought this special edition because it comes with a sapphire crystal. Normal speedmasters have an acrylic crystal. The bracelet is amazing, and much better, IMHO than a Rolex Submariner’s. However the buckle is prone to scratching. Tons of scratches on mine, which is why I’m not giving it 5 stars. The movement needs to be wound up all the time, it is NOT automatic. This is a piece of history as the Speedmaster is a part of NASA’s story of putting a man on the moon.

Serious Piece of History
There is an inherent authenticity and integrity to the feel of this watch that is hard to describe. The 50th anniversary edition has the gold hippocampus – ironically the part of the brain too that controls our memory and sense of direction. Perfect tool for the real or arm chair explorer. Countless NASA tests can’t be wrong.For the fanatics of tool or tactical watches there are two short comings. One is the watch doesn’t hack and the superluminova on the hands is weak. The upside though it is accurate within chronometric standards and daily winding is a little labor of love…. like a true sports car is supposed to have a stick in the floor….great joy to own
