Of all the watches I own and have ever owned, in my opinion, this is probably the finest "bang for the buck" watch ever made. I bought this particular model Tag about eight to nine years ago from Costco for around $1,600 (with tax), and I have worn it practically every day since. As an electrician, I have really put this watch through the wringer. The rotating bezel has scratches all over it attesting to the punishment I have given it….BUT the crystal "Synthetic sapphire" window looks as new as the day I bought it. Even the "Link" bracelet has multiple scratches on its "north-end", which shows the wear it has endured on the working side of my arm. I have changed the battery only once in my ownership, and I had my local jeweler do this task for a nominal sum. The jeweler said that the seal still looked pretty good and that it didn't require a new one.
About one month ago, one of the links cried uncle and came undone. This time I sent it into Tag's factory repair in New Jersey and I asked them to do a complete inspection and tweaking of the watch which included a cleaning, new battery and seal, plus the link repair. $150 dollars later, Tag repaired the lifetime link guarantee (no charge), replaced the battery and seal, inspected and cleaned the watch and mailed it back to me with a written guarantee for satisfaction for the next year. I am VERY pleased.
I have worn this watch from under NYC streets man-holes to the beach to New Orleans' Commanders Palace. It fits in everywhere.
Lastly, and I don't know how they did this, but the accuracy of keeping time on this watch has been nothing short of amazing. In the time that I have owned this watch, I do not recall ever resetting the time of day, save for when daylight savings occurred.
Upon my passing from this world, I intend to include this watch in my last will. Now I just have to decide who is worthy of inheriting it.
