By far the nicest watch I’ve ever owned. Reading up on the product website this is designed for adventure and military lifestyle with a luxurious touch and 25 years of dependable glowing illumination for nighttime keeping. This field watch is 44mm so it’s kind of beefy. I didn’t like this at first but it is water proof up to 200m (656 feet) and it’s clear this thing is durable as heck. But what won me over was the simple, elegant design. The Luminox website or Google search has videos on how to adjust everything! I had a smart watch before – it just felt like a phone adjacent on my wrists, I realize I only really need it/want it for the gym and sleeping. This is now my daytime wear watch giving me more freedom from my phone and still being elegant enough to wear with most outfits and dress clothes.
This is automatic so it has no internal battery, it relies on a spring mechanism that will naturally wind as you wear it (kinetic motion). Otherwise it will slow down/stop working – you can wind it via the knob 20-30 times for 24-36 hours of accurate time keeping. Find the manual online!
The rubber strap it comes with is worth $100 and you cut it to size. It’s definitely a “hiking a high altitude mountain” kind of strap and will probably get a leather one to make it more casual and fashionable. But don’t throw the rubber one away!! The glow on the time hands is definitely weaker than the hour markers, but I didn’t have any problem telling the time in the dark. I personally love Orange Glow. The hours are marked in military time, so takes a little adjusting to. I love that it tells the day and date (there are French variants of the days heads up) and this likely would get stolen from me before it breaks. I love this watch and hope to pass this on to my children.
