Luxury Look, Questionable Fit: A Vegetable Leather Band Review
This vegetable leather watch band is absolutely gorgeous! The unboxing experience felt very high-end, adding to the overall appeal. The band itself is beautifully crafted, with a luxurious look and feel.However, there’s a catch. The ends of the band are specifically designed for Rolex Submariner watches (or similar homages). While this shape might work with other watch styles, it’s something to consider before purchasing.A nice touch was the inclusion of replacement spring bars and an installation tool. Unfortunately, the spring bars provided were not the correct size for my 20mm band. They might work for an 18mm band, but that’s not something I could confirm.Overall, this is a great purchase for fashion watch enthusiasts, especially those with a Submariner or similar style watch. But, due to the sizing issue with the spring bars, I recommend only purchasing if you have the option to return it in case it doesn’t fit your watch.

Leather peeled before I even got it on.
Looks fantastic and I really wanted it to work out on my Rolex Mariner. But pin placement wasn’t perfect and couldn’t ever get it attached securely. Worse than that, the leather began to separate at the attachment point immediately upon installing.

While I did manage to get it on, the holes for the pin placement are not extremely accurate. I think it’s on, but I am not 100% sure to be honest. Every time I put it on, I pinch it with my fingers to make sure the pins are in place, and I always hear a click as though the pin is popping into the hole. This of course makes me nervous, because I certainly don’t want the band to come loose and fall off my wrist. I’m using it with my GMT timer, and it does look nice, but I’m not sure how secure it is. Obviously, this isn’t a cheap watch, so making sure that it’s properly secure is of utmost importance. Another thing I was a little upset about was when I was fitting the strap into the location where it meets the watch, I didn’t perfectly get it in there on the first try, and even with a slight bit of rubbing, the leather came unglued from the end. I was able to fashion it in there so that you can’t see that, but I’m not sure what kind of glue they used, because it can’t be terribly strong. I have no idea how long this band will last as a result of that experience, and how much faith I put into it to actually stay on my wrist. It looks nice, and the clasp works pretty well, but it’s too unsecure to have on a watch that costs several thousands of dollars, to even chance using it. My pictures are for demonstration purposes only, but I’m not sure that I feel confident recommending this watch band for people who want to replace their bands on a Rolex.

Overall a great purchase for fashion watch enthusiast. It should also be noted that included in the package with the band, you will find a set of replacement spring bars and an installation tool. The spring bars are not the right size for 20mm bands. They may work for 18 though. If you can return it, if it doesn’t work, I recommend it.
