Best Apple Watch yet.
Best watch yet. Like the health app. Helpful in quest to lose weight and be healthier. Battery life is still poor- two days when new, best case. More like one and a half day. Love the GPS, phone capability, enabling apps, like going for a run, bike or walk. Also setting up key apps I use a lot like stocks, weather, activity, alarms calorie budget (LoseIt app), Spotify, Strava, activity circles on one face, and clock to tell time! You do not need to take your phone when you exercise now. All syncs up later nicely.

Great for Quick Access
I’ve been wanting a smart watch for a while, but was stuck between Android (Phone) and Ipad (tablet). I finally ditched the Samsung and picked up an iPhone, which made the smart watch a no brainer. I’m impressed with the build quality, and I bought the basic materials (aluminum with rubberized band). I really like the Siri integration as I can make quick notes, tasks, calendar appointments, messages and even phone calls easily from my watch (I did get the GPS and cellular features). I’m still learning how to use this device for maximum effect, but I’m already pleased with my purchase. Of course, because all my devices are Apple, everything works flawlessly together. What a world!

Detected Atrial Fibrillation (AFib)
I purchased my Apple Watch 5 at the beginning of June 2000. When I previously heard Tim Cook tout the watch’s medical monitoring capabilities I was skeptical. On June 28 a message on my watch informed me that an irregular heartbeat was detected and if new I should contact my doctor. My health provider instructed me to go to Emergency and soon after arriving they took tests including an EKG and confirmed Atrial Fibrillation (AFib). I was informed this could lead to blood clots, stroke, and heart attack. Scary. They took many tests and after over nine hours I was released with blood thinner medication. They set up an appointment for me with my PCP and I will shortly be given and echocardiogram and nuclear stress test. The watch detected a serious condition that i was not aware of, and now I am being treated. To say I am happy with my watch is an understatement. The situation below that i wrote about previously was resolved by putting lotion on my wrist every few days.It took me a few days to learn how to use my new watch, and overall it is an outstanding product. However, after a week of wearing it part time, I developed an itchy rash on my left wrist under the watch. I am not wearing my watch for a few days and hope my wrist heals. I will not be able to wear my watch on a regular basis if the itchy rashes persist.

Great watch!
I have owned every Apple Watch since series one. The five is the brightest, with incredible complications, and is a great watch. For those who might be a bit confused, this watch is the cellular version of the Apple Watch. I can assure you it works just fine with a Verizon phone, in my case, an Apple X. However, I read that it works with GSM or CDMA. However, please check with your carrier before buying. To conclude, for me, this is the best yet, as far as Apple Watches go.

Get this watch!!
LOVE THIS WATCH!!!! I absolutely love my Apple Watch series 5, the 44 mm. Itâs the first one Iâve ever had, and I donât know what Iâd do without it. It is gps+cellular, and itâs so convenient when I donât want to take my phone in a store or if Iâm running errand or anything like that. Iâve had no problem with it, Iâve had it since the first week in December. The battery life lasts almost two whole days. This is a great watch!!!

Worthy upgrade from Apple Watch Series 3 and great smart watch if youâre in the Apple ecosystem!
The Good:-Always On Display in Series 5 compared to previous generations, makes for hardly any lag when turning your wrist (also shows watch faces rather than black screen)-Battery life lasts all day even with always on display (I usually end the day at around 35%)-Display is slightly larger than the Series 3 by 2mm but seems much bigger (42 to 44mm); same size as Series 4-Screen auto adjusts to light better than previous generations-ECG sensor (same as Series 4)-Great for tracking general daily activities and workouts-Has 32GB of storage on Series 5 versus 16GB on the Series 3 (can load more music)-Voice memos app syncs across all devices (watch, phone, iPad, Mac); new in WatchOS 6-LTE version connects well to AT&T network so can leave phone behind and stay more present-Noise meter to check decibels in surrounding area (new in WatchOS 6)-Tracks heart rate (same as previous models)-Has compass and elevation readings (new on Series 5)-Water resistant to 50 meters (I donât ever really take mine off except for showering)-Has emergency SOS (same as previous models)-Connects to WiFi (same as previous models)-Large range of apps-Easy to useThe Bad:-As with most Apple products, they are a bit on the expensive side but they are well built and long lastingThe Bottom Line:I own an Apple Watch Series 3 WITHOUT LTE but purchased the Apple Watch Series 5 WITH LTE this time. Without a doubt, the Series 5 is a worthy upgrade from an Apple Watch Series 3. If youâre wondering whether or not to get the LTE version, get the LTE version if you can afford it and Iâll explain why after I review the actual device below. If you donât own an Apple Watch and are in the Apple ecosystem, then I would recommend checking this smart watch also for its functionality and health tracking.Display and Battery Life:First, letâs talk about the display and battery life. The Always On Display on this Series 5 watch is so much better than previous generations because now thereâs almost no lag when you turn your wrist to get the display to turn on. In addition, now there is a watch face on the screen all the time and not just a black screen like on the Series 3 or 4. The battery life on the Series 5 even with the always on display lasts all day. I usually end the day with 35% charge left and thatâs from when I wake up at 6:30AM to when I go to bed around 11:00PM. I should also mention that when it says always on display, it still dims slightly when your wrist is turned away from you. Also if you use the modular watch face like I do, no one can read your calendar appointments or texts since it blurs those out when the watch is in âdimâ mode. The other big change for the display from the Series 3 to 5 is that it is a larger display by 2mm. It might not sound like much but it looks surprisingly larger when on your wrist and fits more text.Storage:Storage has increased from 16GB to 32GB and that means you can fit more songs on your watch. I like to work out with my watch so itâs nice to have more songs on my watch that I can listen to through my AirPods. The watch can connect via bluetooth to any bluetooth headphones btw. However, you can only load music onto your watch through songs you have in Apple Music. Therefore, you cannot download music from Spotify onto your watch directly. Youâd have to run the Spotify app through your watch that would connect to your phone (basically no local storage of Spotify music).New sensors and apps:The Series 4 and 5 both have the ECG sensor which is neat in that it can tell you if you have AFIB. You just have to put your finger on the crown for 30 seconds and it will give you a reading. There is now a compass and elevation on the Series 5 watch only which aids in navigation. There is also a noise meter app built into Watch OS 6 which can tell you the decibels in the surrounding areas.Health tracking:What makes the Apple Watch fantastic is its ability to track all your metrics from heart rate to workouts. There is a workout app on the watch that tracks cycling, walking, swimming, running, elliptical, etc. It can track it all and sync to your Health app which logs your history. In addition, there is the general activity app that tracks your steps and just your general movement for the day. This data also syncs to your health app.ââ-LTE version or not? This part of the review is for people that arenât sure whether they should buy the LTE version of the watch or not. When I bought my first Apple Watch Series 3 a couple of years ago, I decided to get the non-LTE version of the watch (if you do not have LTE, the phone connects to your phone via bluetooth so you have to be within 25 feet of your phone to sync) because I thought well I always have my phone with me so why waste the money on the LTE version and then also pay an extra $10 per month to AT&T for the service (you can still buy the LTE version of the watch and use it without LTE service). To take a step even further back, my main reason for getting an Apple Watch was to reduce my iPhone screen time and to be more present in general. The biggest time suck with my phone wasnât the checking of texts or email, it was the simple act of taking my phone out of my pocket which opened the door to what I call collateral damage. By this I mean, I would take my phone out of my pocket to check a text which was fast but next thing I know Iâve spent 5 minutes checking ESPN, CNN, etc. So I thought the Apple Watch Series 3 without LTE would help me reduce my phone screen time but unfortunately the non LTE version was not helping because I still had my Apple Watch and phone on me at all times. It was still too easy for me to check my phone. With the new and updated Apple Watch Series 5, I wanted to try it out again but this time with LTE. Amazingly, in just the past few days Iâve noticed a huge difference mentally. Iâve reduced my screen time quite a bit since I can actually leave my phone at home and not fear missing out on an important phone call or text. Since I donât have my phone, I canât check the web or any other apps that are a time suck. The only thing that I am missing is the ability to take a picture but in reality being more present is worth missing a picture here and there. Over the weekend, it was great to just go play baseball with my kid at the park and leave my phone behind; it was the most present Iâve been in a long time with him on the field. I also went to lunch and coffee with my wife and we had a great conversation without my phone as everyone around us was staring at their phones while eating. The greatest effect overall is just mentally how I donât feel as necessary to have my phone by me at all times. Even when I have my phone with me now, my first instinct isnât to grab my phone but rather I just look at my watch. Anyways, if you can afford the LTE version and the service plan, then I would recommend getting the LTE version.Overall, the only downside I can see of the Apple Watch Series 5 is the price. As with all Apple products, you pay a premium but they are well built and last a long time. With that being said, I would highly recommend upgrading from the Apple Series 3 Watch to the Apple Series 5 Watch. If you have an Apple Series 4 Watch, you could probably wait another year. If you donât have an Apple Watch at all, I would recommend trying one with LTE if you want to track your health metrics and also If you want to try to reduce your screen time.
