Customers say

Customers appreciate the watch’s looks, quality, and value for money. They like the simple face with good contrast for easy viewing, the stainless steel bracelet and case are brilliant, and it is a solid men’s watch with a hinged band that stays. Many find the 40mm face size perfect for any occasion, not overwhelming large on the wrist. Customers also appreciate the battery life and eco-drive. However, opinions differ on time retention and weight.

    Excellent
I have been a fan of Citizen Watches ever since serving in the Vietnam War and travelling in Okinawa, Japan. This is a beautiful and accurate watch, and the best feature is no battery replacement. It recharges with daylight. I don’t buy battery watches any longer, they must be self-winding or rechargeable like this one. I don’t think you will be disappointed if you buy this watch. It’s a reasonable priced, high-quality timepiece.

    Excellent Wristwatch
This is my third Eco-Drive Citizen watch in the past 20 years or so. The two older models still work just fine. I wanted a dressier look so bought this model.I got this one about a year ago. It has excellent build and materials quality. Looks great, Mine runs eight seconds fast per month — the spec is +/- 15 secs per month — so I reset the time every couple of months. The gold areas of the watch show no sign of wear. I wrote Citizen to ask what the gold application process was. I did not fully understand their reply, but it was some sort of ionization (whatever that means) process which uses real gold in an incredibly thin layer that somehow, as I understood it, blends into the steel in a microns thin layer. I don’t bang it around any, but so far no sighs of wear.I think these Eco-Drive watches are an amazingly high bang for buck.

    Love this watch
This is a really nice watch. Keeps perfect time, no winding, looks and feels good and it’s a Citizen. What else is there to say!

So far, a beautiful, stylish watch, that is accurate and comfortable
I’m very pleased with the watch. I have read the poor reviews, and I can’t say that my experience compares to theirs. The watch is classy, well made for the money. It may appear a little heavy for some, but then, that has more to do with taste. I like the weight of the watch, it gives the feel of a watch that can take a licking, and keep on ticking. If you follow the instructions on the Citizen website, you should have no trouble setting the watch. you have to remember that it is an analog watch, and will require resetting the date in some months. It is based upon a 31 day month, so, any month that does not have exactly 31 days, you’re going to have to reset the date. I know, it’s a pain, but that’s the way it is.I find that, so far, it keeps perfect time.If you are a little handy with tools, you can remove links pretty easy, there’s a YouTube video on how to do it.Well, unless something unforeseen happens, it’s a keeper.Sorry for those who had bad experiences, but that’s the way it is in a mass manufacturing world, you just have to expect some lemons. Just send it back if it does not meet your expectations.

    Beautiful watch
I personally think that this is a beautiful watch. It’s not one that I wear every day. The only negative that I can see (and you might think this is nit picky) is that it gains about three seconds a month. Comparatively speaking, that’s not nearly as good as a couple of other brands that I own. But…it’s close enough, I guess, and did I mention it is beautiful?

    Beautiful, Classy watch
I ordered this watch for my husband to replace a Seiko Solar watch I bought at Christmas of 2019, and had to pay $50 to replace the special Seiko battery 9 months later. I was told it wasn’t under warranty because the seller didn’t sign the warranty card. That Seiko died AGAIN 3 months ago. Seems lots of people had the same issues. SO, I realized one of MY watches is a Citizen Eco Drive. I kept it in a drawer for maybe 7 years and brought it out and left it in the sun for a day and it has been running fine for 3 years now. CITIZEN apparently has a superior system for solar charging. The dark blue looks great. I wasn’t sure we would like it over the black. The size is perfect for my hubs wrist. The bracelet is very handsome. The jeweler locally charged $21.40 to take out 3 links. It took her 3 minutes tops. That is an outrage. WISH I had thought to buy a watch link remover from Amazon along with the watch. Amazon has them for $7.95. I will get one next time I buy a watch. That jeweler has been our go-to place for fine jewelry for 25 years and they just lost a customer.

i have owned Citizen watches before, among others, in the past. this is my first Eco Drive, looking forward to owning it. i really like the navy colored face against the gold and silver. Easy to read, large white hands. It came in a sturdy black and white box, with a spring loaded hinged lid. It does not tell you the day, only the date, but i usually know what day it is 🙂 The watch was covered in protective plastic film, both the face and the strap. Made in Japan, so you know it is a quality watch.

Thursday, 14 December 2023 Another watch in Citizen’s Eco-Watch programme. For those of you not familiar with the Eco-Watch this is a watch powered not by a battery that has to be replaced but by a lithium-ion battery that is charged by light either natural or artificial. The watch once fully-charged will run for approximately 6 months. This particular watch has the Corso design which is a classical design which perfectly integrates the watch band with the body of the watch. I am pleased with this watch.
