Stunning watch
This watch is my daily driver, it has a very nice fit and finish and even though it has a couple scratches from everyday use at work and at home, it still looks incredible, the movement is also pretty precise, I have not needed to reset the hands yet

STUNNING WATCH!
You can never go wrong with a citizen watch! Very modern style and feel. You don’t need to change batteries because it charges with light. The watch comes in a super nice hard box which is ready to give as a gift. 10 out of 10 gift idea for a special someone.

Beautiful
A little too big for my thin wrists, but it is a beautiful watch. My second citizens ecodrive and love them. I hate having to fix my automatics if I don’t wear them. Only down side is i accidentally hit the buttons a lot and the second hand is stuck at 12. Doesn’t affect the time, but still slightly annoying.

Well rounded watch offering convenience with some trade-offs
Update: 9/7/2023 FYI, I stopped wearing this watch for a while and the battery drained. I charged it by laying it on a window sill for a day. However, I forgot it was there and it sat on the window sill for a month. The sun completely bleached the leather band. I’m not docking a star, still a great watch at a great price, but be careful if you do need to charge the battery that you don’t forget and then have to buy a new band! Oops.

I love the overall look and size of this watch. I have larger and smaller watches and this seems to hit the “Engineer in khakis” dress code pretty well. Not too dressy, not too casual. Not too big, not too small. At this price point, there are a few trade offs, but they feel acceptable to me.
Pros:
– Eco-drive – so convenient, never have to deal with a battery or winding reserve
– Value – for the price of this watch, the feel and look are a great value that is comparable to other watches in the same price point without the convenience of Ecodrive.
– Leather band – great color and texture
– Size and Finish – A mix of “satin” and polished surfaces makes for a nice looking watch
– Face – The blue is a unique color (there are some negatives here) and while the face does have a “printed” appearance, it also has the style and function of a chronometer, without “screaming” chronometer. The style is a little subdued. I also like having the date complication.
While there are some things I don’t like, overall, I wear this watch all the time. The following are noted so you can go in eyes wide open.
Cons:
– Chronometer – The start/stop and reset buttons on the chronometer are just a little too easy to push. If I decide to time something (example: commute home on a rainy day, time to walk somewhere) I find that often the timer has reset because I accidentally hit the button with my wrist during a casual movement of the wrist/arm.
– Watchface – I like and dislike the blue face. Unlike black Eco-drive faces, the blue face is more transparent and you can clearly tell where the solar cell is in the watch. However, it is not ugly, just obvious and in a weird way I kind of like it now. However, if you are looking for a bold, high quality face with quality materials, this is not it. I have a Citizen Paradigm that does a much better job of combining Eco-drive with high quality face materials if that is your goal (albeit at a significantly higher price point.).
– Chronometer – Reading the 1/5th chronometer indices can be a little tough due to the “printed” nature of the watchface. The chronometer is more of a novelty that I use since it is there and not a requirement in my book. With that in mind, 1/5th second is definitely not a requirement.

Excellent Value, Nice Styling and Features
I needed a daily wear watch that offered good functionality as well as look decent without breaking the bank and having to worry if it gets the occasional ding or scratch. This watch fit the bill perfectly.
Styling is great. Not too cluttered….but still great features like the chronometer and date complications both of which are a must for me. With a 7-1/4″ wrist the size is perfectly sized.
Negatives – I didn’t like the watch band. It really is cheap and detracts from the appearance in my opinion. This wasn’t an issue for me because I wanted a steel bracelet anyway (mostly for water use) and found one that works great for $16 on Amazon. The date window is very small and a hard to read with my aging eyes. The numbers and markings are painted on and look painted. But, it is a $180 watch not an $1800 watch so I’m good with it.
In the end, great value, good looking, and very much worth the money. All the functions worked well right out of the box.
I like it and am glad I got it.

Update on Jul 22 2024
I purchased this watch online through Amazon January 11, 2024. It seemed to work okay. The arabic numerals are clearly marked. The minute and hour hands are white and stands out against the blue background. The second hand resets at 57 second mark, not 0 second mark. The date is difficult to see. The date indicator is recessed in a small and poorly lit rectangular opening. Then I went on a 28 days trip. I placed this watch on a shelf in my kitchen where sunlight would illuminate the watch face daily. After returning home from my trip I noticed the time had slowed by a little more than 8 hours. This is really strange because it was sitting next 2 other Citizen solar powered watches, and the other 2 watches were running flawlessly on time. The most important function on a watch is keeping time accurately. I have to say that this watch is not accurate. I cannot recommend this watch because it does not work properly.
UPDATE on JULY 22 2024:
I sent in my broken Citizen watch on June 20 2024. Citizen Watch Repair in Torrance CALIF returned my watch on July 18 2024. The watch is running on time and the misalignment of the seconds-hand has been properly aligned. I paid for the delivery of the watch from my residence to Torrance, CA. Citizen Watch Repair returned it to me repaired with no charge. I am happy and satisfied with their handling of the situation. I am changing the numbers of stars to 5.
