I've had my share of athletic and tactical watches, all far more money than this 'cheap' option, so I didn't have too much in the way of expectations for this product.
I was pleasantly surprised when it showed up at my door. The watch is sleek, especially the all-black option I opted for. The band is thick and inspires confidence. The watch body has some heft that adds to the feeling of quality. While the layout is numbered a little odd to me, it didn't take long to figure out the programming and function use of this watch.
One hangup is that the glass/plastic/crystal sits higher than the bezel, so there is nothing to protect against scratching the face. This is an unfortunate worry for what is advertised as a sporty, tactical watch. I do appreciate that they include a microfiber cloth for cleaning this protruding face cover, though.
At less than $18 at the time of this review, this is a great value, and I'm glad to have an alternative to my heavier, bulkier watches for a night on the town or just running errands. I'd consider re-ordering this if it went missing.
The watch has a clean minimalist look while providing all the basic time reading info on the main screen. This includes the time with hours, minutes and seconds, day of the week and the date. Pressing the mode button changes to stop watch, alarm and time set. The default display is a negative LCD display with grey characters on a black background. This gives it a nice stealthy look while still being easy to read, at least for me. Pressing the illumination button gives a nice bright blue light that lights up the characters perfectly.
The design while large is elegant. The clean minimalist design means it would not look out of place in a dressier environment while the silicon strap allows it to be comfortable in for working out or more casual situations. The casing appears to be a glossy painted black metal with a good solid feeling heft to it.
While it says it's waterproof on the listing, the watch states it is water resistant. I probably won't take it swimming even though the listing says you can, I would assume it will have no problem handling sweat.
I think it is an excellent value if you need a good looking, reliable digital watch.
