BEAUTIFUL, UNIQUE, AND ACCURATE
I love this watch; it’s unique, skeletal design makes it a real eye catcher, and the fully exposed balance wheel is mesmerizing to watch. I opted to change out the leather band for a metal one as a personal preference; I like the look and feel much better.After 3 weeks of constant use it’s still within a minute of the correct time when I originally set it. That’s respectable for a mechanical watch of any price in my experience. The face around the dial and the exposed mechanical structure are beautifully tooled, and a pleasure to view.This is a mechanical, self-winding watch, and it will require being fully hand wound prior to use. The self-winding mechanism works well, However, how well it winds itself depends on how active the user is. I’m disabled, so I’m not active enough to keep the watch adequately wound, thus I have to manually wind it once a week in order to keep it functioning properly. I suspect most people who wear it daily will rarely if ever need to hand wind it after the first use, It’s easy to see the spring, and tell if it is staying wound sufficiently.I suspect that most complaints about mechanical ‘automatic’ watches losing time comes from people who simply don’t understand that although batteries are not needed, it’s the movement of the arm and wrist that transfers power to the spring, which keeps the power train charged with the potential energy needed to keep the watch running. If the watch is only worn occasionally during the day, or isn’t worn every day then expect to hand wind and set the watch as needed. If you understand this, and are willing to compensate for rare use by hand winding as needed then you’ll likely be well pleased with this watch.

I haven’t always had good luck with Forsining watches, but this one functions well and looks great. Skeleton pieces fascinate me. This one had a special appeal because its inner workings are much smaller and simpler than those of other skeletons in my collection. Wish I knew an expert horologist who could explain how this item performs just as well as all the others having much more complicated machinery inside. Why don’t all watchmakers build their pieces this way? Wouldn’t doing so be less expensive? Maybe the answers have something to do durability?
