Great GPS/Fitness Watch!
I had a Fenix and sold it to purchase an Apple Watch Ultra which I still have and enjoy using. However, while the AWU is a great smartwatch and has far better interaction, notification and connection to other Apple devices the AWU has horrendous batter life and it’s fitness tracking is not as good as Garmin. Both watches have their place and I’ll keep the AWU as it does have it’s place.Regarding the Epix G2, the amoled screen is excellent, bright vibrant color, works well enough in direct sun and still, even with AOD enabled allows for multi-week battery. Compared to a day and a half on the AWU this is amazing. Workout tracking, step tracking and mapping are great and work as well as the AWU. Also I prefer that the Epix is round, watches should be round. Once the weather gets better I am looking forward to comparing the Epix G2 to my Garmin Edge 1000, if the EG2 works well enough as a cycling computer I’ll likely sell the Edge as I don’t need two cycling computers.Overall I’m very happy with the watch, it does many things excellent, some things good. If there way interaction with notifications, like an Apple Watch then it would be the perfect device, alas Apple will never allow that.

Best Garmin Watch
Used to be a Garmin user and recently switched back from an Apple Watch. What an upgrade. Much better battery life, Amoled, round screen. I prefer the round watch face. The watch has great sleep tracking and activity tracking features. Highly recommend to anyone who is active and wants a smartwatch that doesnât need to be charged daily. The best part was I got this for only $399.

Great Watch with AMOLED screen
Got this watch on a GREAT deal for prime day and can’t regret it. This was an upgrade from a Forerunner 255 and honestly have to say that it kind of measures the same things as the forerunner 255 its just like a luxury upgrade. It has some added features like traning readiness, endurance score and some other which might be helpfull for athletes working with data but they are not necesarily for a amateur athlete. It has a more outdoor activities so i would say its a luxury adventure/outdoor sport watch. Got the white titanium version and looks pretty decent. The only “not so great” thing may be the watch bisel which is kind of a grey material that will scratch if smashed against something in comparison to my previously forerunner wich has like a “plastic” kind of bisel that doesnt reveals too much of the scratches. But besides that, I believe its a great watch only if you really got the budget to buy it, otherwise i would recommend looking for other options depending on the sports you are doing.

Still one of the best sports watch
Garmin released newer upgrades such as Epix Pro and Fenix 8, but Epix Gen 2 is still one of the best sports watch on the market, especially considering its price has greatly reduced, making it an excellent value with all features of a high end sports watch. The OLED screen is a nice step up from Fenix 7, the heart rate sensor is about as accurate as the newer generation. If you could find a good deal of it, you wonât be regretted to get it.

Generally good. Custom workouts are impossible to navigate
I’m generally really enjoying this watch. I’ve had it for a few days. My only complaint is related to the custom workouts. It’s REALLY hard to make a workout, send it to the watch and then find it buried in the menu system somewhere. So far I have failed to find the workouts I’ve created. Consulting the online forums and instructions hasn’t helped at all. It’s all a bit disappointing. Still, the other features are great.

Love it!
I love the color options and options the change face. The mega battery life, the features and the big face of the watch. Oh, the touch screen is neat too but Iâm so accustomed to the buttons on Garmin. No complaints !

Great watch
My first proper smart watch having used fitbit for a while which never seem to last long and end up in the bin when out of warranty. The Garmin is amazing. Had it on for over a week and still has 7 days battery left. Just using as a smart watch for steps and health tracking so far. Functionality is impressive. Wish I had bought sooner.

Umm’d and ahh’d over upgrading from the Fenix 5 – but now no regrets at all.
I’ve had the Fenix 5x Sapphire since launch, and have used about 10% of the functionality (HR, GPS activities, Sleep, Steps, etc), but logged and tracked that consistently with the Connect app. My Fenix was getting tired: the battery was aging – never reached 100% charged, dropped to 50% in a few days, lasted about a week with no GPS, but that was hit/miss; and the watch strap lasted about 4 months before the silicon breaking, and that display, apps, and app controls weren’t quite as compelling as what I was seeing on other devices.I umm’d and ahh’d over upgrading to the Epix, or newer Fenix or the instinct, thinking that the cost to upgrade wasn’t worth it based on how little functionality I used. I watched a ton of video reviews, watch comparisons etc… eventually I pulled the trigger on the white Epix gen 2 and I have no regrets. Not surprisingly 5yrs make a huge difference in watch tech! The display on the Epix is stunning, the touch screen is a joy, the watch is noticeably lighter, and the watch strap seems a lot more durable, apps load fast, sensors are improved, GPS syncs quickly, and the battery life is stunning (with normal GPS activities, and esp if you tweak the display – ~2 weeks with batter saver).Yes this was still an expensive upgrade – did I need to do it? no; am I glad I did? absolutely!

It has so many features compared to my older Polar. I use a Garmin Edge 530 on my bicycle rides and with this watch it allows me to get a more complete picture of my fitness, recovery, and overall body state. The number of features on this watch is astounding. I like that Garmin allows Zwift workouts to be imported, which is something that Polar didnât allow. See dcrainmaker for a comprehensive review of this watch and its features. Garminâs user forum is also a good place to get questions and issues solved. Overall Iâm very satisfied with my purchase, especially since it was $599 Canadian on prime sale day.
