Customers say
Customers appreciate the watch band’s build quality, fit, appearance, and value. They find it well-built with good brushing that matches the case well. The end links fit perfectly and are easy to size with a small screwdriver. Many customers consider it an upgrade over the stock Seiko bracelet. The screw links are easier to remove and replace than the loctite-based ones.

Great upgrade over the stock Seiko bracelet!
I’ve seen much varied discussion about the aftermarket bracelets available for the Seiko divers, and I thought I’d throw my experience into the ring. I’ve had my new model Sumo (SBDC031) for about a month now. At first, I was sure I was going to want a new bracelet for it, but once it arrived I was satisfied enough that I didn’t order one right away. After about a month of wear, however, the stock bracelet left me a bit flat. In fact, that’s probably the best way to describe the stock bracelet…a bit flat (thin) and uninteresting. The stamped clasp construction also felt a bit cheap and the whole thing was a bit rattly. So I decided to go ahead and order a new bracelet.I decided to go for the Endmill style, as opposed to the Super Oyster style bracelet. The Endmill design is very similar to the stock bracelet that came on the Citizen Nighthawk, and I know I enjoyed the 3-dimensional nature of the bracelet links. I think the design looks very “tooly” and functional. The bracelet is 20mm at the endlinks, and 18mm at the clasp.I also decided to go for the base model clasp, after comparing the options in detail on the strapcode website. The base model clasp is much smaller than the others, and it also has polished sides which matches the design of the stock bracelet, as well as the Endmill links and Sumo case. The others have an all brushed appearance, which looked out of place to me. I also value a small, low profile, clasp. While it has fewer micro adjust holes (3), the Endmill links are also much smaller, so more fine adjustment is available than with large link designs like the stock bracelet and the Super Oyster style. After reading various reviews I was somewhat concerned that the endlinks may not fit my newer model Sumo. A fair number reported that they had to slightly file their end links to fit. I’m happy to report that was not the case for me…the end links fit perfectly and precisely between the lugs of the case. These are also a newer style of end links than Strapcode’s old end links, in that they have an “extension” that sweeps down to fit into the first link, as opposed to having a gap where the first link fits into the endlink. The style may not be to everyone’s taste, but it reminds me of my Omega Speedmaster’s endlinks which are of a similar design. I feel like if gives the bracelet a smooth transition from the endlinks to the bracelet, without any gaps or possibility of a “stepped” appearance that some complained about with the old Strapcode design. One thing I love is the screw links on the Strapcode, as opposed to the frustrating pin and collar system on the Seiko. One thing to note on the screw links…as you can see there appears to only be screw links on one side of the bracelet. This initially concerned me, but I discovered that each side of the bracelet has 4 screw links, but the side of the link that the screw is on the same side of the link, so the opposite side of the bracelet because the far side links are obviously oriented backwards to the near side. Conclusion…well worth the money. For $79.99 + tax delivered, it seems awfully hard to beat. I really like the look and feel of the bracelet, and think it matches the Sumo perfectly. I also think the finish matches the watch well. The brushing appears good quality and matches the case well enough. Some have complained that the brushing doesn’t match the case perfectly and that’s true…but neither does the stock Seiko bracelet. I think the Strapcode might even be a closer match IMHO. I also really like the screw links, which are a snap to remove. Finally, the clasp…it’s the cheapest one available but so far I really like it’s operation, finish, and size. I have absolutely no complains. Time will tell if the safety fold over clasp will loosen over time, but slight tension adjustments can be made on these with a slight bend as I’ve had to do on other watches in the past.

It’s awesome
It is a definite upgrade for the SUMO. Quality is acceptable and I recommend it.

Instant Upgrade
Iâm a big Seiko watch fan, but the one thing Iâve never been overly-impressed with are the stock bracelets that come on their watches. This is the third Strapcode bracelet I have purchased, and as always I am very pleased with the quality of the product. It greatly enhances the look and feel of the watch, and is well worth the extra money on top of what you pay for your watch.

For me it was a no brainer….
I made the right decision and product choice. This pand has solid curved end links that fit seamlessly with my 3rd Gen Sumo. Looks awesome

Worst Product I’ve Ever Purchased
This band is so poorly engineered, it ruined a $600 watch!!!! The end links were so poorly designed, they did not fit the watch!!! I tried to muscle them in place, but the end link at 12:00 on the watch was so poorly engineered, the spring bar would not even fit into the slots on the watch. The top of the end link would not sit flush with the watch!!! The top of the flip down clasp on the bracelet feels sharp. I believe I could slice meat with it.I will never buy another after market bracelet from this company!!!

Enhancement for my Seiko SBDC033 “Blumo”
The bracelet fit my Seiko SBDC033 ‘blumo’ just right at the lugs. A bracelet tool “fork” to install at the lugs and a little patience helps a lot getting the spring bars secured at the lugs. The new spring bars that come with the bracelet worked fine too and they’re similar to the Seiko originals (bigger in diameter/stronger) for a diver watch. My wrist is approx. 7 1/2″ and removing a couple screw links (use a tiny jewelers or eyeglass screwdriver for the link screws) gave me a good fit. The Endmill enhanced the watch with a more beefy appearance complimenting the case thickness and size….so far so good for the two weeks on my wrist. I used the 3 micro adjustments in the clasp to fine tune the fit. I see no difference in ‘color’ between the stainless steel on the watch case and bracelet.

Better than stock.
Brushing and end link shape matches my SPB177 perfectly. Decent screws on bracelet that came with out loctite. Thankfully. Removed 4 links for my 7″ wrist.

Great bracelet, but needs some filling to fit the newer Sumos
This is a great President-style bracelet for a Seiko SBDC “Sumo” dive watch. Solid, comfortable, and matches the watch great. Easy to size with a small screw driver. I am very happy with this bracelet. Why only 4 stars? The solid endlinks do not fit the lugs on the newer Sumos. This minor issue that has been discussed on various watch forums. Not clear what year marks the difference – these endlinks are known to fit older-style lugs, but not new ones. And yes, all Sumos are listed as 20mm. But there is a “minor” difference, and the endlinks are too large to fit without modification. It took me about 1 1/2 hrs with a metal file (used for tuning ski edges) to trim the endlinks to fit the lugs And now they fit great. But be prepared.

Absolutely fantastic! The only complaint I have is the price. I own a Turtle, and could never justify a $100 bracelet for a $400 watch, especially when the original bracelet with solid end-links is decent. But for the Sumo that costs twice as much but comes with lousy end-links that are not flushed with the lugs, I finally took the plunge to buy a Miltat bracelet. Perfectly fits without need for modification/filing, in contrast to some buyers (I half suspect those buyers bought a fake Sumo). Enough links can be removed from both sides, so there is no problem getting the perfect balance. I have small wrists (6.5″) and the balance can be achieved, so those with wrists as small as mine can buy with confidence. A picture speaks a thousand words, so let the viewer enjoy.
