Looked great on the website, nice presentation, striking design – what's not to like?
So at this price point I didn't expect to get a fully functional dive watch – and they didn't advertise it as such. Most watches that fall into this "sport/outdoor" category have a bezel with numbers every 10 seconds and dots in between, so that if you're diving, you can easily keep track of how long you've been down and when you need to start your ascent. And on a legit dive watch, the bezel rotates so you know when the minute hand points to, say, 25 on the bezel, it's time to start up.
I didn't expect a rotating bezel, but how on earth did I miss the fact that instead on numbers on the "bezel" they have the 4 cardinal points of a compass (N, E, S, W) with 2 lines between each for the ordinal points? What possible purpose does this serve? Nowhere do they mention using it as a sundial.
Bear in mind that this is just my opinion on one – to me critical – aspect of the appearance. Apart from that, the watch certainly feels very solid, seems to be well built and is generally attractive, if a bit large for my taste. But big watches are in these days, so ….
Probably going to return it. Can't see myself wearing it and having friends ask me why the bezel has compass points rather than numbers.
