A nice dress watch, let’s talk about that link removal tool…
I have anoter Rainten watch and the one thing I couldn’t stand about it was the band. It was leather and extremely small and dainty, I ended up replacing it with something more robust that actually fit around my wrist and felt secure. The metal band solves that problem quite nicely. I love their green faces, the color is extremely vibrant. And while I would have preferred just the stones set at 3/6/9 rather than all the way around the edge, it’s a flashy watch trying to be flashy, I won’t begrudge them that. Adjustment is straightforward and as long as you wear it semiregularly the self-winding works great and keeps accurate time.The clasp on this band is actually hidden, I’m not sure of the terminology but I am more used to metal bands with an obvious latch cover/point. I kind of like the uninterrupted look. It comes generously sized (thank goodness after that super small leather band) and I needed to take two links out for a good fit. Usually that would be a trip to a jeweller but they include a link removal tool. I have seen some other reviews mentioning it being too fragile, and maybe theirs was or maybe it needs more instructions. You see, the link pins are asymmetrical, if you try and drive them out one way it should be one little click and they’ll pop out, go the other and it’s going to be a battle. The instructions do not mention this AT ALL, and more by luck than anything I picked the right side on the first pin and saw how they worked. So, if you are really fighting with it, look and see which end of the pin looks solid and which looks a bit like a flat-head screw, you want to be pushing them out on the solid side! I successfully used the tool to remove two links (popping out 4 pins) and to reassamble (inserting two pins) without too much issue. But clearer instructions would definitely go a long way I think.

I recommend this RAINTEN R9001A Men’s Luxury Mechanical Automatic Watch with a 999 Gold Inlay.The Large 42mm Green Color Changing Dial Face against the Gold Bezel and Band attracts attention to the Watch. The Bezel is surrounded by 40 pieces of Crystal and there are two Diamonds at 3, 6 and 9 positions. The hands are Luminous and the Time is easy to distinguish at night time and Roman Numerals are in Gold and stand out prominently on the Green Dial Face. The Crystal is synthetic Sapphire. The Gold Link Band is unusual, it closes and the catch is contained beneath the watch with large tabs for release. This construction gives the illusion that the Band is one continuous length with no opening or closure, an eternity look. RAINTEN includes a Tool for removing or adding links adjust the size for the right fit on the wrist. The Backside of the Watch Case has a see through feature that shows the internal workings of the Miyota 8217 self winding movement that provides the watch with a power reserve. This watch is a beautiful fashion statement that attracts attention and conversations when you wear it. I love Mechanical Automatic Watches and I collect them. I keep them in a large Self Winder when I am not wearing them. This RAINTEN watch is an accurate and precise time piece. This was a good find for my collection.
