Great legendary watch! I feel like Arnie 🙂
I am happy to finally have the legendary Seiko Arnie in my collection! The watch is massive (but lightweight), very good assembly and great vintage style (from the 80s)
I would say that the size of this model is universal – it fits perfectly both small and large wrists. My wrist is 7.5 inches and it looks great. The rubber strap is extremely comfortable, soft, pleasant to the touch. The solar powered mechanism is very good – seconds hit the indices accurately, without discrepancy. There is a function of falling asleep by staying in the dark for a while – the display goes out and the hands are arranged at 12 oâclock, but continues to keep accurate time. As soon as it detects light, the display automatically turns on and the hands stand at the exact time. Bezel fits perfectly at 12 o’clock. Very fast and secure delivery and very well packed! Thank you!

Rugged ! Perfect for any job!
Great watch ! Style points for Arnie + itâs pretty tough for the price with protective shroud and 200 m water resistance

DO NOT BUY! BEWARE
The watch itself is beautiful even with the 48mm sizing. It fits my 6 and 3/4 inch wrist nicely and over all is very comfortable with useable complications. I wholeheartedly love the style of the watch and its functionality. However, THE WATCH IS DEFECTIVE. 2023 Models, from what it seems, have defective modules and cease to work. The watch will work perfectly, but once it is in direct sunlight, it will factory reset and misalign the arms with the time complication. You will then have to manually reset your time, align the arms, and reset the date. Once the watch is in direct sunlight once again, your watch will reset again. This is an ongoing issue with the SNJ025 027 and 033. For a watch that is SOLAR powered, youâd think it would be tested to not be defective when in direct sunlight. SAVE YOUR MONEY and get a model made before 2023 or get an alternative watch. For some watches the issue will not appear until after the return period has concluded. DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH!!!!! Wait until Seiko recalls them, offers a fix, or until any models produced after 2023 are released. Why this watch is still on sale even though Seiko, Amazon, and dealers know about this issue is beyond me.

Seiko Arnie, Amazing watch at a great value with iconic movie history
Ok let’s begin with “GET TO DA CHOPPA” this watch is the Seiko Arnie reissue with updates engine and solar and its epic. It’s not only one of his favorite watches it’s been in 4 of his movies. The Seiko H558-5000 is most famous for being worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger in several of his 1980s movies, including Commando (1985), Raw Deal (1986), Predator (1987) and The Running Man (1987). Therefor it is often referred to as the Seiko Arnie Diver. I pulled the “TRIGGER” on one of the most ICONIC action movie watches of all time. While this is an updated reissue with new internals the look and feel is exactly the same and I love everything about it… also it fits well for its size. A larger face and shroud (basically a seiko tuna) its lugs hang downward and it very comfortable for all day wear in the office or our in the field. Great LUME all night glow and an internal light on the digital panel. So very effective in all light conditions. Plus ISO rated up to 200m 660 feet of pressure depth so it’s an REAL DIVER. Lastly since it’s so iconic there are literally hundreds of bands, bracelets and straps as well as steel and polished shrouds or plastic and colorful cerakote guards. YEAH YOU CAN MOD THIS WATCH. I wont because I wanna leave it’s a ARNOLDS watch while I hunt PREDATORS in the jungle but you can have it your way and go absolutely nuts with it if you wish. Great 80s nostalgia with current internal tech best of both worlds if you just want a daily wear workhorse too!

The iconic Seiko Arnie
The Seiko Arnie (SNJ025) Reissue is amazing! I’ve wanted to get one since the reissue in 2019 but was a little put off by the price. It generally hovered anywhere between $450-$525 USD. But in recent months it’s come to down to around the mid $300 which to me is a fantastic value. Love the ani-digi dial with alarm, dual time, stop-watch, and a cool function that lets check the battery level(or capacitor charge level, since technically there is no battery). The solar movement, in my opinion, makes it an even better value without the necessary battery change that would be needed at some point. Seiko lovers like myself don’t need to hear about the significance and heritage of this watch. If you know, you know. But if you’re on the fence or thinking of buying your first Seiko or new to watch collecting, believe me, this watch is worth every penny they’re currently selling for. I got this one for $332 USD with a 17% deal from Amazon. The bottom line- this is an awesome watch and my other Seikos will probably be spending quite a bit of time in the case for awhile because Arnie will be getting major wrist time for the foreseeable future ð. Get one!!

I have a small Citizen collection for everyday wear and a casio DW for work. I’ve always wanted to add a Seiko but witch one?
I went with the stunning Seiko prospex famously known from Predator. An absolute gem. Fits every style.
Solid build, confy, solar powered, rotating/push crowns, digital display with lighting and easy to set up. The watch goes into sleeping mode in a dark environment to save on energy.
The watch itself is not as bulky as it seems. Bracelet is smooth but slightly long. Fits my small wrist perfectly. Love that watch!

Edit after 3 months of ownership: beware of this watch. It turns out there is (what should be a) known issue with it resetting and with the hands going out of alignment. There is a big thread on reddit. Just search for ‘Seiko arnie keeps resetting’. The date resets to 1/1/2019 and the time goes completely out of sync. The trigger appears to be bright sunlight which is quite the reason for a solar watch. Unfortunately I am out of my return window. Second edit: Amazon rep came through so five stars to them on resolving my problem. In case you’re wondering why it took me 3+ months to notice the problem, it’s because I bought it in winter so there was hardly any exposure to bright sunlight until just recently.
Cons, such as they are: 1. No countdown timer, but the original did not have one either. Seiko seems to not include that feature with its analog-digital hybrids. 2. It’s not made in Japan (it’s made in China). I have another Seiko Prospex which is made in Japan and has more panache even though absolutely nobody else knows or likely cares. 3. I’m not a fan of the screw-down pushers as I find them somewhat awkward and I wonder if it’s just another wear-and-tear item to worry about.
Pros: As many have pointed out it does wear smaller than it’s dimensions. It looks awesome and it’s a perfect watch for multiple purposes. You’re not likely to wear it with a suit to a wedding (or maybe you are) but it became my daily wearer. All manuals are online now so you can research the operation and full list of features (alarm, second time zone, stopwatch, auto-calendar to year 12/31/2100) at your leisure. Solar is the way to go from an operational standpoint. Hand-wind obviously has to be wound regularly and automatics have to be worn or you need a winder. Both of those watch types also require service every 5 years or so. Batteries requires changing every 2-5 years. Solar + quartz + perpetual calendar means as long as it’s not covered up in a drawer it will last you 10+ years before you would consider having it serviced. The accuracy of this Seiko is exceptional so far. It appears to have have gained 1 to 1.5 seconds in 6 days, so that would be 1 to 1.5 minutes per year.
