Seiko Prospex Automatic Stainless Steel Blue Dial Blue Silicone Strap Date Divers Mens Watch Model# SRPF81K1 / SRPF81 As part of the Prospex Street Series Urban Safari release, this piece nicknamed Baby Tuna features a 43.2 mm shrouded stainless steel case with a dark blue sunray dial protected by Seiko’s proprietary Hardlex crystal, a uni-directional rotating bezel with a 60-minute scale on a dark blue and cream top ring and silver-tone and luminescent indices and hands, both of which are filled with Seiko’s LumiBrite for enhanced luminescence, readability and visibility for longer periods. A date aperture with a black background is located between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions while the screw-down crown sits just slightly above at the 4 o’clock position. This watch is fitted with a blue silicone strap secured with a stainless steel signed buckle. The stainless steel caseback features the iconic tsunami and Prospex logos. It is powered by Seiko’s caliber 4R35 automatic movement which boasts of a 41-hour power reserve and is water resistant to 200 meters/660 feet. I bought this watch about 18 months ago through eBay, as it was not available on Amazon at the time. I had always been a fan of the Tuna, shrouded diver look, but the 47mm+ size of the watch had always kept me from taking the plunge. I mean the look is really great it truly looks like a “tool”. But 47-48mm is just way to big. And then Seiko announced a smaller option and I bought one the first chance I could.Obviously I’ve been wearing the watch on and off for a while now and it is a really good daily wear. The rubber strap is pretty comfortable and very flexible. The watch feels smaller than its size and wears really nice. Although it is rather tall and isn’t a great option with long sleeves. The colors are awesome, if a bit muted. Which is actually good as it doesn’t have a gaudy look to it. The bezel has a nice clicking sound to it and operates pretty smoothly.For me the watch has been really accurate, it has been running at ± 10 seconds. One thing that has really stood out as different from my other Seiko’s is the lume, its freaking blue. Not the standard greenish color. Not sure what that does for you in the long run, but its worth noticing. I don’t have any major problems with the watch. It’s a good daily wear or beater option.My wife said to me after 18 months, “When did you get that watch? I have never seen you wear it before.” After explaining that I wear it all the time and I showed to you when I first bought it, she responded, “Ohh okay, whatever I guess.”
