Really nice looking watch and great quality materials, 39mm watch size and panda black and white color, is a bit small if you are used to big watch faces.

Honestly a great looking watch, biggest surprise was the braclet quality usually seiko braclets are … ehhh but this one feels similar to my Omega Speedmaster

    Handsome but Smaller
Like numerous reviews, the watch at 39mm, is on the small side. I have a smaller wrist so I wasn’t concerned. However, most of my other time pieces are in the 43mm size. That difference is noticeable. Also, the links in the bracelet were tricky to remove. They have an inscribed arrow showing which direction to drive out the pin. No big deal until I realized that there is a very, very small roll pin in the link nub that came out. It is what holds the pin in place. Other bracelets I have sized, have a split on one end of the pin. That is what wedges the pin in place. That kind is easy. This wasn’t so easy and I lost 2. Fortunately, I didn’t need them but now the bracelet is limited to my wrist size plus one additional link. Is the watch worth the price? Not really. $350-$375 woud be a fair value. It does look like a Daytona for sure.

Very nice attractive watch. I prefer the smaller size (39mm)
Very nice watch nice size. The only problem I have (It’s not clear in the description) is that the small 24 hour dial cannot be independently set as a second time zone. All in all a very attractive watch

    Great Watch
Not much to say. It’s a Solar Chronograph from Seiko in ‘Panda’ colors. Seiko build quality is always so nice. It works great and looks great!

I have been a huge fan of Seiko watches and own a few for its excellent quality, great timeless design, incredible detailing, and timekeeping accuracy. I fell in love with this Speedtimer model the first time I saw it. The “panda face” is such a fresh and modern look for a chronograph. I love the high contrast of the white face which makes it easy to read and looks distinctive. The dark dials houses the solar cells to charge the watch and under bright sunlight they appear translucent ink blue which is a cool subtle detail. To accomodate these solar cells the date window is pretty sunken in the face making it harder to read. This is the only fault, though minor, I have with this watch. It’s nice to know that I will never need to change a battery and with regular wear in any kind of light it will stay charged (it has a 40 hour power reserve). The illuminated hands and dial markers have a nice bright blue glow that is long lasting, and the sweeping movement of the second hand is nice to see.I have a smaller wrist and this 39mm size is the perfect size, and also oversized watches are thankfully an outgoing trend these days, and this makes for a great versatile casual watch I could wear everyday, at work or travelling.Any watch aficionado can tell you that Seiko’s are just as good as any Swiss-made watch for much less and without the pretension of a luxury brand (why wear a watch that has the stigma of potentially being a knockoff?). This is an excellent value quality chronograph for under $1,000 CAD.Eventually I want to graduate to a Grand Seiko, a very sought after and admired luxury watch by experts (and better than any Rolex which I think are overrated and over-marketed) but those are over $10k and definitely worth it. In the meantime, this Seiko Speedtimer and my other Seiko will do just fine.
