Important Notes
Proper care ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Tinker. The blades and tools are made from stainless steel that has been tempered, annealed, and polished to achieve the right balance of hardness and corrosion resistance. To maintain sharpness, use a whetstone at a 15°–20° angle, which results in an effective 30°–40° cutting edge. If using a grinding wheel, always cool the blade with plenty of water to prevent overheating and potential damage to the steel. If tools begin to stick or become difficult to open, repeatedly open and close them in warm water to loosen any debris, then dry thoroughly. Apply a drop of Swiss Army Knife Oil between each tool and its spring to maintain smooth operation. Dishwasher use is not recommended, as high heat and harsh detergents can damage the finish and internal mechanisms. With roots dating back to 1884, Victorinox remains a family-owned company based in Ibach, Switzerland, continuing a legacy of precision craftsmanship that began with Master Cutler Karl Elsener. From supplying the Swiss Army with its first standard-issue knives to becoming a global icon, Victorinox upholds a tradition of quality, reliability, and innovation—all still proudly made in the same Swiss village today.
