Use skills: The key is accuracy and alignment.
As a first time user perhaps this will help you, this is the experience provided by an enthusiastic buyer:
1) Secure the watch strap in the gray plastic holder.
2) Use the hammer and the tips with the longer rod to tap the pin a little into the strap, enough so that there is a groove.
3) Move the watch into the vise tool. It should be much easier to align the tip into the groove.
4) Ensure pin on vise is straight and secure before you tighten.
5) Turn vise pin until you sink the tip all the way up to the base.
6) Turn vise pin the other way until the tip comes out clean.
7) Lift the watch off the vise to remove the pin. Use a set of needle nose pliers if pin still sticks.
8) Rinse and repeat for any additional pins you need to remove.
To put the pin back after removing a link:
1) First check if the pin got bent or spliced when you removed it, if necessary use a new pin.
2) Overlap links and insert pin until it fits into all openings.
3) Insert watch and strap into gray plastic holder.
4) Use plastic side of hammer to tap pin flush into strap so you don’t damage or scratch the watch strap, especially if you miss.
5) Slap that beautiful newly adjusted strap on your watch like a champ and brag to anyone who will listen how perfectly it now fits.

Great Repair Kit
Not sure how they can sell this great kit at that price. Great quality, all the tool you need, good instructions. Removed a link in a watch band in about 5 minutes. Perfect for all those little pins you have to deal with. Highly recommended.

Good value for money
A pin broke on my metal watch strap. A jeweler will charge $10-$15 to put a new pin in. This complete kit is very modestly priced and contains dozens of metal watch strap repair items and the tools for repairing the strap yourself. Excellent value for money.

Pin is easily bent
The watch band removal tool’s pin was bent after putting it in the included bag loose. Tried to bend it back and *snap*. And a replacement not included with the set. Other than that, the kit’s other tools were well made and did the job. Part of this is my fault but a replacement pin in the kit or a protective container for the tool would have been nice.

Great Value
This little kit makes adjusting a watch band a breeze. It comes with everything you need and even includes spare pins. It was easy to use, in was simple and make adjusting my watch band very simple. I would buy this again if necessary. The price is cheaper than taking my watch to a jeweler. If you want to buy something that is easy to use and works as advertised this is it. If you need to adjust your watch band this is what you need,

Complete kit
This is the most complete kit I found. The tool used to push out the link pin is metal and has adjustments to align the pin to the link. It even has extra tips if one gets damaged. There are extra spring bars and link pins. Very pleased with the purchase.

Low quality but you can make it work
I read another reviewer suggest that you’re better off buying a higher quality tool set for this job and I agree, but the challenge is that the Amazon marketplace seems only to carry this quality, albeit in various permutations that include or exclude components. Since I couldn’t find anything that looked appreciably better, I purchased this one and was able to make it work.On the upside: The band holder block works passably and the kit contained the proper size pin punch that let me drive/reinstall my band pins.On the downside:1) the band holder is just an echo of all the others I saw on Amazon, which only includes one row with larger gaps for the thicker band I was working with. It would be better if this block would include a second, larger-gapped row to help hold the other side of the bracelet to keep it supported at the same height and aligned–it’s awkward to do this while also holding a small pin in one hand and the hammer in the other.2) The solder or epoxy or whatever that was holding the hammer head on the handle was loose so the head just spins on the handle. I was able to make it work, but again: low quality.3) The replacement pins provided look more like a cotter or split pin, which is different than what is used in my watch band or any that I’ve ever seen. Thankfully, I was removing links and could reuse the ones from my bracelet.4) My band had a tiny bushing around the pins that would have been easy to loose (I almost did). That would be a useful addition to this kit.5) The other reviewers’ comments that the pin pusher vise are correct in that there’s not enough adjustment available in the base to support the band elements properly. I didn’t use the tool because of this. It’s interesting to me that seemingly all of the watch band tool sets on Amazon look the same…like exactly the same. They must all come off of the same line or are copies of the same design. This is unfortunate since there are glaring limitations inherent in the design that could be improved with a little diversity of thought and manufacturing. In the end you can make this work; it’s better than nothing and it’s cheap. That said, I would have gladly paid more for a better set if I could find it readily.

When I purchases a new Citizen watch I knew that I would have to adjust the band to fit my wrist. This tool kit served my needs very well. The tools provided in the kit are not professional grade but they certainly met my needs.Yes, the watch band holder, with the threaded height adjuster is somewhat flimsy but a cardboard shim (or two) is all that’s needed to enable the holder to be functional. All of the other peripherals (pins and pin removers) are helpful and should allow the tool kit to be useful fro virtually all watch bands (and brands).Recommended.

So i was tired of spending 20 to 30 dollar every time to get the links added/removed, so decided to get this. I received it and saw few youtube videos and it worked like a charm. Removing and adding link became so easy and for the price it is a great value for money. It comes with so much stuff and so many different tools. I gave 4 stars because the screw tool which it came with was not very useful and is very wobbly. I only used hammer tool to add and remove links which worked amazingly. I would suggest anyone facing problem watch a youtube video to learn how exactly it is done and it will make it easy.
