My first impression with this auto-winder was the packaging – it was very well protected. I find when manufacturers take that kind of care to protect their product during shipping, its indicative of the pride they have in the quality of their product.
After unboxing and removing all the shipping protection, it didn't take very long to get it up and running. It is dead quiet – and my partner is a very light sleeper, particularly sensitive to repetitive cyclical noises. I would say the sound of the watches flywheels moving was the only sound I could pickup in the dead of night (I have it on my bedside table).
Overall, knowing watch collectors are a particularly discerning group, I was extra critical in my rating. So I have have given this product a 4 star, but I honestly struggled with the decision.
Its not a 5 star from me for the following reasons:
– The box is constructed very well, but the finish could be improved. There were no flaws, but its nothing special to be honest. A rather bland black woodgrain – like you'd find on your dad's sound system speakers from the 90's.
– The LED is very much on the cool side and not as uniform as it could be.
I think this enclosure, with a more sleek finish (forget the wood grain, or do a matt clear over it so its a smooth surface) and a COBB LED that's closer to 3500K, would make it an easy 5 star from me.

While this is a beautiful watch winder, that locks, has LED lighting, and holds 7 additional watches (stationary) under the 4 rotating bays, there is something wrong with the door that prevents the door from smoothly opening and closing. The glass insert slides around and shifts the door over so the latch does not line up. It feels like the hinge is not attached evenly on the side as I can feel a noticeable edge on the top of the door and not on the bottom.
The mechanical aspect of the winder seems to work as it should, and the light is very nice. I like the key, it’s very elegant looking! I wouldn’t recommend this winder due to the poor design of the door, or at least the quality control!
