I got this F.ZEGAO watch because I like the thicker tech-style digital watches. I’ve always preferred the Casio-style digital look over traditional analog timepieces, and this one fit that “sporty military” vibe pretty well.
First impression on build quality is good. It’s mostly plastic with rubberized parts and it feels solid in the hand. It doesn’t feel flimsy or like it’s going to crack easily. The clasp closes securely and doesn’t feel cheap, which is important since this is the kind of watch you’d wear for day to day or outdoor stuff.
Setting the time was straightforward. You hit the set button and use the mode button to adjust, so it didn’t take long to get everything dialed in. I also really like that it has a dedicated light button. The screen lights up at night and makes it easy to read in the dark, which is a must-have for me on a digital watch.
Comfort-wise, it sits pretty well on the wrist, and the thicker case isn’t a problem. The only minor downside is the strap rubber is a little stiff, so it’s not the softest band I’ve worn. It’s still comfortable enough that I don’t think it’ll bother me wearing it all day, but a softer band would make it even better.
Feature-wise, it’s pretty straightforward. It has the standard digital watch functions like an alarm and basic modes, but it’s not trying to be a smartwatch. That’s actually what I wanted – a simple, rugged-looking digital watch.
It’s marketed as waterproof (10ATM), but I haven’t tested that yet. I haven’t showered with it or dunked it in water, so I can’t comment on real-world waterproof performance. That said, it feels durable and like it should hold up well for sports and general outdoor use.
I would imagine that it probably has good battery life since it's just a simple digital watch, it didn't come with any type of battery removal tool, and I haven't tried taking out the battery but usually it's not too difficult. The size of the watch is just right it's not too big and it's not too small it feels right for my wrist and style.
Overall, if you want a thick, simple digital sports watch with a good backlight and solid build quality, this is a good option. The only small con is the strap stiffness, but everything else has been solid so far.
