Confused about sizing
Prior to ordering, I researched the proper case opening die to use for my Brietling watch. The proper size was Brietling 15-800, $80 plus a handle to hold the die at $30, which has the following measurements:Flat to Flat: 35.5Corner to Corner: 36.2Flat to Corner: 36.0This is referred to a Brietling 36 mm case opening die and the dimensions are given this way because there is an odd number of sides (15 total), so there is no side that is directly across from another.So I ordered the 36 mm case opening die. However, the size of this 36 mm case opening die is no where close to 36 mm even though the dimension shown in the picture shows a flat to corner dimension of 36 mm. Actual dimensions I measured with a Brown and Sharp vernier caliper are:Flat to Flat: 37.8Corner to Corner: 39.12Flat to Corner: 38.35It looks to me that this die is 2.3 mm oversized and there is additional relief in the corners as shown in the ratios of the sizes in the Brietling to the ratios in this die. This is probably due to the tooling used to make a less sharp corner. So with the sizing terribly wrong or the labeling of the die done incorrectly, I cannot recommend this product at all and giving it one star was difficult but was necessary to write the review.Do not buy this or the others like it. I order a silver one (as pictured on Amazon) that stated in reviews it worked, but received a dark grey one that had bad reviews stating it did not work. Definitely confused and this one is going back for sure.

Doesnt fit a 38 mm case back Breitling
This is advertised to fit a Breitling 38 mm case back. I have a Breitling Colt which requires a 38 mm socket (for case back removal). The socket sent by the seller indicates that it is a 38 mm socket, but it is more of a size 40 mm (too big for my watch). So, I ordered a 36 mm from same seller and hope that it will actually be for a 38 mm case back… We’ll see…..Follow up.The 36 arrived and works!So I’m a happy camper. But I wouldn’t depend on all of these being 2mm too large…

The size was just slightly too small, and the next size up would be too large.The 35mm actually is 36.2mm and my case back is 36.7 mm.Since it is supposedly made for Breitling, it would be nice if they stated which watches it was actually supposed to fit.Good luck getting the right size.
